EQAO (Education
Quality and Accountability Office)
Testing Support Package
Some students are better at
writing tests and quizzes than others.
Many children are quite anxious when faced with formal
testing. Possible results of such anxiety are that they may rush
through the test, misread some of the questions, and commit “careless
errors.” Thus their score may reflect “how well or poorly
they managed the test” more than “how well they knew
the material being tested.”
The strategies in our support package will level
the playing field, so that EQAO scores will more reliably reflect
your child’s knowledge. In the end, parents, schools and school
boards will be able to make better decisions about how to enhance
student learning.
